Comment: It's the same recording for months now with no information. Says it's from American Express, but why would that be?? Did some research on the internet and apparently there are a number of people who have had the same problem with these people. They need to be reminded of various laws and abide by them or be penalized. Ridiculous. Thank you.

The $1 million civil penalty is the largest ever in a debt collection case. They seem to be pursuing any possible debt without verifying the validity of the debt, including past debt paid off or past debt that is beyond the statute of limitations for collecting.
